Gite (left) & Chambre d'Hotes

Les Deux Maisons is situated in the Haute-Vienne ‘départment’ of the beautiful Limousin, near the borders of the Poitou-Charentes region. Set within the small hamlet of La Grande Intrade, close to Oradour St. Genest and within 10 minutes drive of the Collégiale city of Le Dorat, we are situated between and easily reached from the airports at Limoges and Poitiers, which are each serviced by low cost carriers. Both are within one hour’s drive and we recommend that guests make use of the car hire facilities at the airports to fully enjoy the opportunities that the Limousin has to offer.  We recommend that you book in advance for the best deals and have found that Rhino Car Hire offer a wide range of cars at very competitive rates at Limoges and Poitiers Airport.

We offer you the choice of either or a self-catering gite, which accommodates up to four persons, or bed & breakfast (chambre d’hôtes) in our main house.

For further information, or to make a booking for either the gite or Bed & Breakfast

Warm and generous hosts, comfortable gite, everything provided - what more could we ask for? We've had a really lovely stay. Thank you Peter & Jayne. Hopefully we will be back.     Bryan & Marie Harper (Kendall, Cumbria. England)

What a great place! It's clean, warm. Cosy and much larger than anticipated it would be. Jayne and Peter are very very friendly, polite and helpful, cooking us a wonderful breakfast as well as giving us a lift to the train station! The perfect place to rest our weary legs before continuing our charity walk to Calais! We'll be back!!!     Jack Cowling (Wiltshire. England)

Thank you Jayne & Peter for your hospitality. The gite is wonderful - it has everything needed for a comfortable family stay. We especialy appreciated all the extra things you did for us to ensure we made the most of our time in this special spot in France. Dale loved the open fire!!     The Cashman Family (Peregian Springs. Australia)

Thank you for making us feel very welcome. We had a fabulously relaxing time, and really enjoyed everything about the gite. We thoroughly enjoyed the peace and quiet, and would definitely consider returning.     The Copeland Family (Nottingham. England)

We've had a fabulous week here in your lovely gite and visiting the surrounding area. Admittedly we've spent most of the time at Lac de Saint Pardoux! The children thought it was fantastic and are now fully fledged water babies! We've really enjoyed ourselves and thank you for this lovely gite. It was just what we could have wished for!     The Gibbs Family (Winchester. England)

We've had a great time and have thoroughly enjoyed staying in this beautiful gite. Peter & Jayne, you should be very proud of what you have achieved here. We look forward to returning later in the year.     Steve & Julie Goodman (Pontyclun. South Wales)

This has been the loveliest of gites and one we would recommend unreservedly to our friends. Jayne & Peter have been gracious and very helpful and have provided us with the perfect base for our search for our own little piece of the Limousin. Everything that you could possibly need has been thought of here and the gite has been so easy to stay in while so beautiful to look at. Many thanks!     Annie, Nigel & William Handyside (Castlethorpe. England)

We've had such a relaxing week in this cosy and comfortable gite. Thank you Peter and Jayne for the provisions on arrival, constant supply of firewood and helpful local tips - and for the toys for Harry! We enjoyed the markets and old towns at Chauvigny and Montmorillon, and the book Les Ruines is a must-read. The Intermarche at Le Dorat is a handy local supermarket. Most of all we loved sitting outside in the sun soaking up this beautiful countryside, and sitting by the fire. Thanks again for a lovely stay.     Marty, Lyn & Harry Gardner (Sydney. Australia)
